Strategizing the unification of legacy fintech portals into a high-performance ecosystem. Due to the type of work, I can't provide screenshots or concrete use cases.
As Scandinavia's leading payment fintech, Nets faced high operational overhead due to a fragmented landscape of legacy portals, causing friction for professional banking users. The business goal was to sunset multiple portals to reduce costs and user frustration through a unified service.
I led the strategic effort to unify these disparate services into a singular, high-performance fintech ecosystem. I designed sophisticated table systems and data models to ensure high-density financial data remained actionable and clear.
I utilized Information Ecology principles to map usage patterns and establish a data-driven prioritization roadmap. We prioritized the portals based on user engagement, business impact, and technical feasibility.
I spearheaded the audit of the fragmented portal ecosystem, documenting core functionalities and complex usage patterns to define a high-impact consolidation roadmap. By aligning business goals—such as reducing operational overhead and technical debt—with user needs, I led the prioritization of features based on technical feasibility and long-term scalability.
In collaboration with user researchers, I led the effort to transform qualitative pain points into actionable design strategies. We analyzed cross-portal friction to inform the unification process, ensuring the new platform solved legacy usability issues while maintaining high-confidence financial workflows.
Partnering with technical architects, I designed the foundational architecture and interface of the consolidated platform. I engineered high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes that visualized a cohesive experience, ensuring the solution met the diverse requirements of all banking and internal user groups.
I architected a unified design language that synthesized the most effective elements from legacy systems into a streamlined, consistent interface. By standardizing navigation, data representation, and branding, I established a robust UI framework that ensures operational efficiency and brand authority across the fintech suite.
I directed the validation phase, working with researchers to conduct rigorous usability testing on developed modules. This ensured that the unified platform delivered a high-performance experience that satisfied both security constraints and user expectations before full-scale deployment.
I fostered critical alignment between Technical Architects, Product Owners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Working on a large-scale project required constant communication with developers and internal bank users to ensure technical feasibility.
Working on a large-scale project in the finance industry taught me how to manage complex stakeholder needs. I learned that unification requires a balance between legacy features and modern UI standards.
